Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol" / "O Símbolo Perdido" de Dan Brown

Well I didn't read exactly, honestly I've been listening in the past 2 weeks to the "Lost Symbol" audiobook.

I gotta say that i was very ceptic about audibooks, but now... Oh boy, I'm hooked! It's perfect for me, i can do the house chores, walk to work while listen to a "light" book such as this. 

If you haven't tried yet, I recommend starting with the books read by Paul Michael. He doesn't sound like a Dalek or Robocop, he gives each character a unique and distinct voice throughtout the all book. 

Bem, eu não li exactamente... honestamente, eu tenho escutado o audiobook "The Lost Symbol" nas duas últimas semanas.

Eu tenho que dizer que eu era muito céptica em relação a audiobooks, mas agora ... Oh boy, eu estou viciada! É perfeito para mim, que eu possa fazer as tarefas domésticas, caminhar para o trabalho... enquanto ouço um livro "light" como este. 

Se ainda não experimentaram, recomendo começarem por ouvir os livros lidos por Paul Michael. Ele não soa como um Dalek ou o Robocop, ele dá a cada personagem uma voz única e distinta em toda o todo o livro.

The Sinopsys

Called by his friend Peter Solomon to give a speech in Washington, Robert Langdon travels to the U.S. capital. When the teacher is entering the stage to start the lecture he discovers it was all a scheme to lure him in order to initiate a search for an ancient mystical portal that would allow the Apotheosis. Robert sees himself  forced to work with Mal `akh, villain compels Langdon to decipher all the steps leading to the secret Masonic Pyramid, that Mal` akh has access to power which tells the legend of the ancient Mysteries. Throughout the plot, Robert gets help from Katherine Solomon, Peter's sister, while Solomon is taken hostage by the villain of the story. Katherine is a researcher of a new branch of science, Noetic. Together they try to uncover the secrets hidden in the pyramid looming increasingly to the Lost Symbol, the symbol that will bring great power to mankind.

Robert vê-se então forçado a trabalhar com Mal ` akh , vilão que obriga Langdon a decifrar  todos os passos que conduzem ao o segredo Pirâmide Maçónica, para que Mal ` akh tenha acesso ao poder que conta a lenda dos antigos Mistérios. No decorrer da trama, Robert recebe ajuda de Katherine Solomon, irmã de Peter, enquanto este é feito refém pelo vilão da história. Katherine é uma pesquisadora de um novo ramo da ciência, a Noética . Juntos tentam decifrar os segredos escondidos na pirâmide aproximando-se cada vez mais do grande Símbolo Perdido, o símbolo que trará grande poder à humanidade.

Once again I got hooked! You are a wizard mr. Brown.You are able to to do magic: transforming a not so tangible reality into a great entertaining thriller. But... this time the ending was somehow disappointing... Oh well, you can't have it all.

So if you like this kind of thriller that part is based in reality and the other part based in cooky and mysterious theories, this book is for you. And if you don´t have the time to sit down and read a book get yourself the audibook and listen to the story while you're doing stuff around the house, for example.

Mais uma vez eu fiquei viciada! Você é um feiticeiro sr. Brown. Você é capaz de fazer mágia: transformar uma realidade não tão tangível num grande e agradável thriller. Mas... desta vez o final foi de certa forma decepcionante ... Oh, bem, você não pode ter tudo.
Então, se você gosta deste tipo trihiller, em que parte é baseado na realidade e outra parte baseada em teorias fantabulásticas e misteriosas, este livro é para você. E se não tem tempo para se sentar e ler um livro, arranje o audiobook e ouça a história enquanto você está fazendo coisas em casa, por exemplo.
